The next item I will be reviewing from my Ipsy order this month is, Meet Matt(e) Trimony from the Balm. I love the name it is extremely clever, and it makes me laugh every time I look at it. This is a matte eyeshadow palette. Just like with the lipstick I haven’t use any matte eyeshadows. So this product type is completely new to me.
This shade I was sent is “Marriage Matt(e)rial”, again clever name, it actually perfectly matches the swag bare Minerals matte lipstick. Now this is just on sample eyeshadow that comes from the larger palette. So the palette in full runs for around $35-$40, and it is $42 on thebalm.com. Which is a little high to me, but I am new to specialty make ups like matte.
I really like this light pinkish red color. It is a really beautiful color, I’d say it is probably better for hazel colored eyes. But no matter what eye color you have, if you like the color wear it! You do you!
The color is very strong, and a little actually goes a long way with this product. Like with every eye shadow, it is extremely important to use a primer to keep the eyeshadow in place. I tried it out at work for the first time without primer (because I don’t care it with me) and after about an hour it started to crease. But when I reapplied later that day, with primer, it stayed on without creasing or smudging for the rest of the night.
I really like this shadow from them, and I am definitely interested in testing more of their products. I might even say (in sarcasm) that this eyeshadow is the Balm! (Like they haven’t heard that a million times)
I give this product a four out of five stars.
Please send me any comments or suggestions you may have, I love hearing from you guys.
