When I first saw this fad come across my Pinterest page, I thought to myself, “There is no way that this stuff actually works.” After this initial sighting, I kind of let the concept of mood changing nail polish pass out of my mind. I didn’t give it a second thought until I was getting my nails done this last Saturday. I was trying to pick a color for my nails, when I noticed one of the colors had mood color written next to it. I asked the gentlemen who was going to be doing my manicure if the polish actually worked. He laughed and said, “Of course it does.” So I picked a pretty shade of blue that I really liked. The brand was LeChat Perfect Match Mood Gel Polish.
I was a little surprised that when he started painting on the color it went from a deep rich blue to a very translucent white. It took two coats before the white started to really be set. I had to use the UV light of course to set the gel or shellac polish. When it was done I was shocked that color of the nail polish was white and not the blue I had chosen. But honestly that is the only disappointment that I have had with it.
In case you didn’t know, this nail polish technology does not change based on your mood. The color changes on your temperature. So when I am warm the polish is white, and when I am cold the polish is blue. I have added a video so you can see how the polish changes under cold water. I am pretty happy overall with the polish, and I’ll probably be buying a bottle to add to my nail polish collection.
